Welcome...

Here you will find legal info (not advice) pertaining to issues of practicing attorneys and how some of the selected few have a tendency to play nice with each other and cover for each others misconduct while bilking their clients with unintelligible legal invoices. This site is for cases and situations where lawyering itself, and a lawyer's questionable billing practices may be at stake or thrown "under the light".

Why?...

This site is permanently in place so that you, the buyer, will have the opportunity to be made aware of specific facets of common legal issues that have been known to exist in the past and presently exist between clients and their attorneys, as well as other every day legal matters. Lame Lawyer is one of the few sites that all less than scrupulous lawyers and judges would rather you not know about.

Fairness...

NOTICE: Do NOT hire any lawyer without an engagement letter or commit to one verbally before reviewing their history. Also stay away from lawyers that mandate hourly billing practices and high retainer fees. You should always approach your prospective attorney with a fixed fee arrangement proposal as they are mutually beneficial to both lawyer and client. Your attorney will be limited as to how much money they will be able to print with these two elements. Read more.

Complain...

You have the right to complain to a judge or the state bar if you feel that all of the lawyers in your area are banning together against fixed fees or client friendly engagement letters. If this type of activity seems to be taking place, this facility will be happy to assist you in establishing and hosting a complaint web site if you feel that you've been treated unfairly or unethically by any attorney or judiciary. Just remember to always mandate and establish a non-boilerplate Engagement Letter and a Fixed Fee schedule agreement with your new attorney. Also, make no verbal agreements on these matters as credibility may come into question if there is ever a dispute between you and your attorney.

Did your attorney just sit there and watch a friend of theirs (who is also an attorney) do something bad to you? Click here, here and then here to tell us about it.

Self-regulation of the legal profession requires that members of the profession initiate disciplinary investigation when they know of a violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Lawyers have a similar obligation with respect to judicial misconduct. An apparently isolated violation may indicate a pattern of misconduct that only a disciplinary investigation can uncover. Reporting a violation is especially important where the victim is unlikely to discover the offense. Rule 8.3
